Travel By Air

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is accessible from major cities in India via direct flights. Don Mueang International Airport (the oldest airport in Asia) and Suvarnabhumi Airport are both international airports in Bangkok. 

Suvarnabhumi International Airport serves direct flights from Kolkata, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai. Those departing from Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport take fewer than three hours. The Suvarnabhumi Airport is located 30 kilometers east of Bangkok.

Travel By Train

Most suitable for local citizens, other than tourists.

• Mahachai Line: Start – Thonburi; End – Samut Songkhram
  Start at Thonburi’s Wongwian Yai train station, just across the Chao Phraya River from Bangkok, where hourly trains operate to Samut Sakhon
• Death Railway: Start – Thonburi; End – Nam Tok
• Sleeper Train to Chiang Mai: Start – Bangkok; End – Chiang Mai. Thailand’s first long-distance train route, which links Bangkok and the northern  city of Chiang Mai, is the classic Thai train journey.
• Beach Train: Start – Bangkok; End – Hua Hin
  Eastern & Oriental Express: Start – Bangkok; End – Singapore

Travel by Road

The trilateral highway connecting India, Myanmar, and Thailand provides excellent road connectivity to Thailand. A road trip from Moreh (Manipur) to Mae Sot (Thailand) is approximately 3200 kilometers long. To reach Thailand from India, you have to drive for a week.
