The Statue of Unity is the world’s tallest statue with a height of 182 metres. A huge exhibition hall covering an area of 4,647 square metres has been set up in the pedestal of the Statue of Unity. The hall showcases the life of Sardar Patel, his contributions to the Freedom Movement against British rule and his role in the merger of princely states.

The Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, the life and culture of the tribal people of Gujarat and the Sardar Sarovar Dam are also displayed through an Audio-Visual show. The monument also boasts of a viewing gallery at 135m height at the chest of the statue with a capacity of 200 tourists at a given time. A Light and Sound show using laser technology projected on the Statue of Unity takes place every evening except Monday. The colourful laser lighting system is accompanied by an excellent narration of the history and life of Sardar Patel, his contribution to the Independence Movement and the unification of India as one nation.The Statue of Unity is located 3.5 km from a small town known as Kevadiya in Gujarat, India.It is approximately 25 kms from the nearest city Rajpipla, 90 kms from Vadodara, 150 kms from Surat and 200 kms from Ahmedabad.

The closest bus stop to Statue of Unity is located in Kevadia, with local autos available from there to the Statue of Unity.

The nearest railway station to Statue of Unity is located in Vadodara, and the nearest airport to Statue of Unity is also located in Vadodara.

However one can also easily visit the Statue of Unity from Ahmedabad or Surat, with both cities having railway stations, airports, and being within 2-4 hours driving distance from the Statue of Unity.The Statue of Unity stands on Sadhu island on the Narmada, 3.2 km downstream of Sardar Sarovar Dam, the second largest concrete gravity dam (by volume) in the world.

2.5 km from Sardar Patel’s Statue is the 17 km long Valley of Flowers, with multiple view points of the Sardar Sarovar Dam roughly 3.5 kms away.

Not to miss is the drive to the Narmada main canal gate 10 km away from the Statue of Unity. There are also multiple temples located within a 10 km radius of  Statue, and Zarwani waterfalls located 14 km away.

The Narmada is the 5th longest river in Indian, running in a rift valley between the Vindhya and Satpura ranges. It has the longest canal network in the world bringing fresh water to 460 kilometres across of the state of Gujarat, and 74 kilometres into the state of Rajasthan.

    Which day Statue of Unity is closed?

    VISITING HOURS. The Statue of Unity opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 6:00 PM from Tuesday to Sunday. The Laser Light and Sound Show can be viewed from 7:30 PM onwards daily, except on Mondays. The Statue of Unity is closed on Mondays for maintenance work.

    What is the entry fee of Statue of Unity?

    A basic entry ticket to the Statue of Unity costs ₹ 120 for adults and ₹ 60 for kids. It gives you entry to the valley of flower, memorial, museum and audio visual gallery, the Statue of Unity site and the Sardar Sarovar Dam

    After security check which is approx 200m from statue you might not be allowed to carry food etc. (camera is allowed).

    Can you go inside the Statue of Liberty?

    Grounds ticket holders are allowed to tour the grounds of Liberty Island, but can‘t go inside the statue. They allow the holder to visit the pedestal and also go all the way up into the statue’s crown. Getting to the crown requires climbing 146 steps, and there is no elevator access
