Marriott’s expansion in Saudi Arabia – 2,700 new rooms across Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah

Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector is set for a major boost as Al Qimmah Hospitality, a subsidiary of BinDawood Investment, has signed a landmark agreement with Marriott International to develop five new hotel projects. These hotels will be strategically located in Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah, adding more than 2,700 rooms to the Kingdom’s growing hospitality portfolio.

The expansion will feature four of Marriott’s globally recognized brands:

  • JW Marriott (luxury segment)

  • Four Points by Sheraton (midscale comfort)

  • Element Hotels (extended stay)

  • Four Points Flex by Sheraton (new brand debut in Saudi Arabia)

This collaboration underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to diversifying its accommodation offerings and strengthening its position as a leading global tourism hub. The projects are designed to cater to a wide range of travelers — from luxury seekers to budget-conscious visitors — while supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of expanding tourism and hospitality infrastructure.

With religious tourism continuing to drive demand in Makkah and Madinah, and leisure and business travel rising in Jeddah, the partnership between Al Qimmah Hospitality and Marriott International is expected to play a pivotal role in meeting the surge in demand for premium accommodations.

Dr. Abdulrazzaq BinDawood, Chairman of Al Qimmah Hospitality, emphasized that the collaboration reflects a shared vision to deliver world-class hospitality experiences and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s growing importance in the global tourism market.
