Singapore Visa for Indians — Complete Guide 2026: Tourist, Business, Transit and SG Arrival Card
Singapore Visa for Indians —
Complete Guide 2026
Everything Indian passport holders need to know — Tourist Visa (STVP) processed through authorised agent, Rs.4,200 all-inclusive (30-day stay / 60-day validity / Single Entry), photograph 35x45mm white background, passport 6 months validity, bank balance Rs.80,000, SG Arrival Card mandatory, Form 14A, Form V39A, Tourist, Business and Transit visa types, and 15 detailed FAQs covering Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa Island, Marina Bay Sands and Universal Studios Singapore.
Singapore — the Lion City — stands apart as Southeast Asia's most polished, efficient, and rewarding travel destination for Indian tourists. In a city-state covering just 733 square kilometres, Singapore delivers an extraordinary density of world-class experiences: the futuristic Gardens by the Bay Supertrees illuminated against the Marina Bay skyline; the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark with its iconic infinity pool and panoramic views across the Strait of Singapore; the thrills of Universal Studios Singapore and S.E.A. Aquarium on Sentosa Island; the Michelin-starred restaurants and legendary hawker centres of the Newton Food Centre and Maxwell Road; and the cultural immersion of Little India, Chinatown, and Kampong Glam — all within a single MRT journey. Singapore is safe, immaculately maintained, English-speaking, and deeply familiar to Indian travellers through its vibrant Indian diaspora community.
Indian passport holders require a visa to enter Singapore. Unlike Vietnam, which has a standalone online e-visa system, the Singapore Tourist Visa (Short-Term Visit Pass, STVP) for Indians must be applied through an ICA-authorised visa agent or through the online ICA SAVE (Short-term Visa Application for Visitors to Singapore) system accessed via an authorised agent. There is no direct walk-in self-application at the Singapore High Commission in New Delhi for tourist visas — the agent-based route is the standard process for all Indian applicants. RTH World Tour Packages is an ICA-authorised agent processing the Singapore tourist visa at an all-inclusive Rs.4,200 (30-day stay, 60-day validity, single entry) — covering the SGD 30 government fee, Form 14A completion, photograph compliance, document review, ICA submission, and status tracking.
Additionally, from 2024 onwards, all visitors to Singapore including Indians must complete the SG Arrival Card (SGAC) — an online pre-arrival declaration replacing the physical disembarkation card previously handed out on aircraft — within 3 days before arrival, free of charge. This guide covers every aspect of the Singapore visa comprehensively: photograph rules, passport rules, the complete tabular document checklist, all three visa types in a horizontal interactive tab view, the application steps, tips in a two-column layout, and 15 detailed FAQs.
Singapore Visa Types for Indian Nationals
India nationals can enter Singapore under three primary visa categories. Click each tab to explore the complete details, documentation, and notes for that visa type. The Tourist Visa (STVP) is the most common for Indian travellers and is what RTH processes at Rs.4,200.
The Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) — Tourist is the standard entry permit for Indian nationals visiting Singapore for tourism, leisure, shopping, visiting friends or family, or attending cultural events such as concerts, exhibitions, or sports events. It is granted for up to 30 days stay within a 60-day validity window from the approval date. The visa is processed through an ICA-authorised agent such as RTH World Tour Packages — there is no direct self-application at the Singapore High Commission for Indian tourists.
Key Details
- Stay permitted: Up to 30 days per entry
- Validity: 60 days from approval date
- Entry type: Single entry (standard); multiple entry at ICA discretion

- Cover letter (employed: plain A4; self-employed: company letterhead with stamp)
- NOC from employer (if employed); salary slips last 3 months
- GST certificate (if self-employed)
- Aadhaar card / any additional ID as required by ICA
The Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) — Business is for Indian nationals visiting Singapore for business meetings, trade conferences, negotiations, trade fairs, product launches, investor meetings, or other professional activities that do not constitute employment in Singapore. It is not for taking up paid employment or performing skilled work — those require an Employment Pass (EP) or S Pass from MOM (Ministry of Manpower). The Business STVP documentation requirements are more stringent than tourist, particularly for financial proof and invitation letters.
Key Details
- Stay permitted: Up to 30 days per entry
- Validity: Typically 30–60 days at ICA discretion
- Entry type: Single or multiple at ICA discretion
- ICA Govt fee: SGD 30 (~Rs.1,800–2,000)

- Business card of the applicant
- PAN card copy

- All standard tourist documents (Form 14A, passport, photographs, flight, hotel, cover letter)
Indian nationals transiting through Changi Airport with a layover have two scenarios depending on whether they exit the airport or remain in the international transit zone. Airside transit (remaining within the international departure hall without passing through immigration) does not require a visa, provided the layover is under 96 hours and a valid onward ticket is held. If you wish to exit the airport to explore Singapore during a layover, you require a valid tourist visa or transit visa. Note that Singapore's Changi Airport is one of the world's best airports with extensive facilities including the Jewel Changi shopping and entertainment complex — many Indian travellers deliberately choose Singapore connections to enjoy the airport and potentially the city.
Airside Transit (No Visa Needed)
- Remain entirely within the international transit zone of Changi Airport
- Layover must be under 96 hours
- Must hold a confirmed onward ticket to a third country
- Valid passport with sufficient validity for onward destination
- No immigration clearance — no stamp in passport
- Access to Jewel Changi, Terminal shops, and transit facilities
Exiting Airport (Visa Required)
- Any exit from the airport into Singapore requires a valid STVP tourist visa
- Apply through an authorised agent (RTH) before departure from India
- A standard tourist STVP covers a transit-with-city-exploration layover
- Documents: passport, photographs, confirmed onward ticket, hotel or host address in Singapore, bank statement
- SG Arrival Card must be completed within 3 days before arrival even for short transit visits into the city
- Note: holding a valid US/UK/Australian/Schengen visa does not grant Singapore entry without a Singapore visa for Indian nationals
The Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) and Dependant's Pass (DP) are for Indian nationals with family connections to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Employment Pass / S Pass holders. The Social Visit Pass is a category that allows longer stays — typically for spouses or children of Singapore citizens or PR — and may extend beyond 30 days. These visa types involve a more complex application process directly with ICA and are outside the scope of standard tourist visa processing. Consult RTH for guidance on social and long-term visit options based on your specific situation.
Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP)
- For spouses, children, or parents of Singapore citizens or PRs
- Applied directly with ICA Singapore — not through standard tourist agent route
- Validity: 1–3 years typically, subject to renewal
- Allows unlimited re-entry during validity
- Supporting documents include marriage certificate, birth certificate, sponsor's employment pass, or PR card as applicable
Social Visit Pass (Extended Stay)
- Issued at immigration officer's discretion for stays beyond the initial 30-day STVP
- Can be requested at the Immigrations checkpoint on entry or at ICA Building in Singapore
- Extension is not guaranteed — ICA officer evaluates each case on its merits including ties to home country, financial profile, and purpose of stay
- Indian applicants with clear purpose, strong financial profile, and property/employment ties in India are more likely to receive extensions
- RTH can advise on the extension application process for current Singapore visitors
The SG Arrival Card (SGAC) is Singapore's mandatory electronic pre-arrival declaration, introduced as a permanent system replacing the physical disembarkation/embarkation card previously distributed on aircraft. All visitors to Singapore including Indian nationals must complete the SGAC within 3 days before their arrival date — it is free of charge and submitted online through the official ICA portal at ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore/sg-arrival-card.
The SGAC requires: passport details, travel details (flight number, arrival date), accommodation address in Singapore, declaration of health and financial sufficiency, and emergency contact information. After submission, an SGAC reference number is generated — save this digitally or note it down as immigration officers may reference it. Families can complete a single submission for all members travelling together. RTH World Tour Packages provides step-by-step SGAC completion guidance for all clients as part of the pre-departure briefing.
Passport Rules — Singapore Tourist Visa
| Requirement | Rule and Detail |
|---|---|
| Validity | Passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months beyond the last intended date of departure from Singapore — strictly enforced at the ICA submission stage and again at Changi Airport immigration on arrival |
| Blank Pages | Minimum 2 completely blank visa pages. Singapore immigration stamps entry and exit on separate pages. For multi-country Southeast Asia itineraries (Singapore + Malaysia + Thailand + Indonesia), maintain at least 4–6 blank pages |
| Data Page Condition | No handwritten amendments, corrections, or alterations on the biographical data page. No torn or damaged pages. The machine-readable zone (MRZ) at the bottom of the data page must be fully intact and scannable |
| No Amendments | Passports with any handwritten corrections (e.g., ink corrections to name or date of birth) are rejected by ICA — renew the passport before applying for a Singapore visa |
| Old Passports | Submit photocopies of all pages with visas from USA, UK, Australia, Schengen countries, Japan, or prior Singapore visas — these significantly strengthen the application by demonstrating a strong travel history of compliance and return to India |
| Children | Each child requires their own individual passport and separate visa application. Children under 18 travelling without both parents must carry a notarised No Objection Certificate from the non-travelling parent, along with both parents' passport copies |
| Condition of Passport | Passport must be in good physical condition — clean, undamaged, no water damage, no missing pages. ICA rejects water-damaged or structurally compromised passports. Renew before applying if in doubt |
Photograph Specifications — Singapore Visa
Singapore's ICA has detailed photograph specifications that must be followed precisely. Two physical photographs are submitted to the visa agent with the physical application. ICA's official photo guidelines are published at ica.gov.sg/photo-guidelines.
| Specification | Requirement for Singapore Visa |
|---|---|
| Dimensions | 35mm wide x 45mm high — borderless (no border around the photograph edge) |
| Recency | Taken within the last 3 months (stricter than some other visa authorities that allow 6 months) |
| Quantity | Two photographs required for submission with physical visa application |
| Background | Plain white background — no shadows, no patterns, no off-white or cream backgrounds |
| Face Coverage | Full face clearly visible from chin to top of head; both ears visible; head centred; face should occupy approximately 70–80% of the frame |
| Expression | Neutral expression — mouth closed, eyes fully open, looking directly at the camera lens |
| Glasses | Not permitted — remove all eyewear including prescription glasses |
| Headgear | Not permitted (religious exception: full face including forehead, chin, and cheeks fully visible) |
| Lighting | Uniform diffused studio lighting — no harsh shadows on face or on background; no red-eye |
| Print Quality | Printed on professional photographic paper — matte or semi-gloss finish; not printed on standard office paper, inkjet paper, or standard laser prints |
| Alterations | No digital retouching, filters, background replacement, skin smoothing, or colour manipulation of any kind |
| Colour | Full colour photograph — black and white photographs are not accepted |
| Hair and Accessories | Hair must not cover the face, eyes, or eyebrows; no heavy accessories obscuring the facial area; avoid pure white clothing (merges with white background) |
Singapore ICA requires photographs taken within the last 3 months — not 6 months as with most other visa applications. Indian applicants who reuse photographs from a recent Korea visa, Japan visa, or India passport renewal application may find their Singapore photos outside the 3-month window. Always obtain fresh photographs specifically for the Singapore visa application. RTH World Tour Packages verifies photograph recency and specifications before every submission.

This document checklist is standard but not exhaustive. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) reserves the right to request additional documents based on the applicant's profile, travel history, purpose of visit, or any other individual circumstance. RTH World Tour Packages reviews every document in the complete file before submission to ICA.
Singapore Visa Application Procedure — Step by Step
All steps below — from Form 14A completion, Form V39A, photograph compliance, bank statement verification, cover letter drafting, and ICA SAVE submission — are fully managed by RTH World Tour Packages at the all-inclusive fee of Rs.4,200 (30-day single entry / 60-day validity). WhatsApp us on +91 91009 84920 to begin your Singapore visa application.
Prepare Documents 2–3 Weeks Before Travel
Collect all mandatory documents: passport (6 months validity, 2 blank pages), two recent 35x45mm white-background photographs taken within the last 3 months, last 6 months bank statements with a minimum Rs.80,000 maintained balance and bank official attestation on every page, NOC from employer on letterhead, last 3 months salary slips, confirmed round-trip flight tickets (refundable), confirmed hotel booking (refundable), and Aadhaar card. Self-employed applicants additionally prepare company bank statements, GST certificate, and business letterhead for cover letter. RTH provides a complete personalised checklist for every client at the start of the process.
Complete Form 14A — Visa Application Form
Download ICA Form 14A from the official ICA Singapore website. Complete all fields in English — personal details (full name as in passport, DOB, passport number and expiry, nationality), contact details in India, employment details, travel details (entry and exit dates, purpose of visit, accommodation address), emergency contact, and a declaration section. The form must be signed and dated by the applicant. RTH fills, cross-checks, and reviews every field against the passport before finalising — a single field error can cause rejection.
Write Cover Letter
The cover letter is one of the most important narrative documents in the Singapore visa file — it is the applicant's direct address to the ICA officer. It must include: full name and passport number, purpose of visit with specific Singapore destinations and activities planned (e.g., Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa Island, Universal Studios, Marina Bay Sands, Little India, shopping at Orchard Road), exact travel dates, accommodation name and address, source of funding, current employment details and leave approval, and a clear statement of intent to return to India before the visa expires. Employed applicants write on plain A4 paper; self-employed on company letterhead with business stamp. RTH drafts and reviews every cover letter before submission.
Submit Complete File to RTH — Agent Reviews and Submits to ICA
Submit your complete physical document file to RTH World Tour Packages (or share scanned copies for RTH's initial digital review). RTH performs a comprehensive pre-submission document review: photograph dimension and recency check, bank statement format and balance verification, Form 14A cross-check, cover letter review, and passport validity confirmation. RTH then completes Form V39A (the agent's Letter of Introduction submitted alongside Form 14A) and submits the complete file to the ICA SAVE system. A submission reference number is provided for tracking.
Track Application — ICA Processing 3–5 Working Days
ICA standard processing time is 3–5 working days from the date of complete, correct submission. RTH monitors the application and alerts you immediately upon approval or if ICA requests any additional document or clarification. Do not book non-refundable flights or hotels until the visa approval is received. During peak travel seasons (June–August summer, December–January Christmas/New Year), ICA processing may extend to 7–10 working days — apply earlier during these periods.
Receive E-Visa Approval and Complete SG Arrival Card
Upon ICA approval, the Singapore visa is issued as an electronic visa (e-visa) delivered by email — a PDF document containing your visa details, validity dates, permitted stay duration, and entry type. Print the e-visa and carry it to Singapore along with your passport. Additionally, within 3 days before your arrival in Singapore, complete the mandatory SG Arrival Card at ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore/sg-arrival-card. RTH provides step-by-step SGAC completion guidance for every client.
Arrive at Changi Airport — Immigration Clearance
On arrival at Singapore Changi Airport, proceed to the immigration counter. Present: printed e-visa, valid passport, and SGAC reference (immigration officers can verify SGAC electronically). For first-time Singapore visitors, immigration may ask standard questions about purpose of visit, accommodation address, and available funds — have your hotel booking and return ticket accessible. The Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) stamp is placed in your passport at the immigration counter — verify the permitted stay duration on the stamp before leaving the counter. The entire immigration process at Changi typically takes 5–10 minutes with a valid visa and complete SGAC submission.
Singapore Visa Fees — Reference Table
| Fee Component | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| ICA Government Fee — All Visa Categories | SGD 30 (~Rs.1,800–2,000) | Non-refundable once submitted; included in RTH fee |
| RTH Agent Processing — Tourist Visa (30D Single) | Rs.4,200 | All-inclusive — SGD 30 govt fee + Form 14A + Form V39A + document review + photo check + SGAC guidance |
| RTH Agent Processing — Business Visa | Contact RTH | Additional document requirements; travel insurance mandatory (client arranges separately) |
| SG Arrival Card (SGAC) | Free | Completed online at ICA portal — no fee; mandatory for all visitors |
| Travel Insurance (Tourist — Recommended) | Rs.500–2,500 per person | Not mandatory for tourist visa; strongly recommended |
| Travel Insurance (Business Visa — Mandatory) | Rs.1,500–4,000+ per person | Minimum USD 50,000 coverage — must be confirmed before submission |
The SGD 30 ICA government fee is non-refundable once the application is submitted — whether the visa is approved, rejected, or if the applicant decides to cancel travel after submission. RTH World Tour Packages performs a thorough pre-submission document review to maximise the probability of approval before the fee is paid to ICA. This is one of the most significant advantages of using an authorised agent versus attempting self-submission.

Search on YouTubeTips for a Smooth Singapore Visa and Travel Experience
These tips are arranged in two parallel columns covering both the visa application process and practical travel guidance for Indian visitors to Singapore. Both parts are equally important — a well-prepared visa application is the first step; knowing Singapore well ensures the trip itself delivers everything the Lion City promises.
Apply 2–3 Weeks Before Travel
Standard ICA processing is 3–5 working days. Apply 2–3 weeks before travel to allow comfortable buffer for any document correction request. During peak season (June–August, December–January) apply 3–4 weeks before — processing extends to 7–10 working days during these periods.
Bank Statement Must Be Dated Within 1 Week
ICA requires that bank statements are dated within the last 1 week from the date of submission. Obtain your bank-attested statements just before submitting your file — statements dated more than 7 days before submission will be rejected. The 6-month history must still be included.
Photographs Within 3 Months — Strictly Enforced
Singapore ICA's 3-month recency requirement for photographs is more stringent than most other visa authorities. Do not reuse photographs from other visa applications. Obtain fresh 35x45mm white-background photographs specifically for the Singapore visa immediately before submitting the application file.
Prior Travel History Strengthens Application
Prior visa stamps from USA, UK, Australia, Schengen countries, Japan, or previous Singapore visits significantly improve the ICA approval assessment. Always submit photocopies of all relevant pages from old passports showing prior international visa stamps — these demonstrate a proven pattern of compliance and return to India.
Cover Letter Must Mention Specific Singapore Plans
A generic cover letter is a common weakness in Singapore visa applications. Be specific about your Singapore plans: name the hotels you will stay at, the attractions you plan to visit (Gardens by the Bay, Universal Studios, Night Safari, Chinatown, Little India), the restaurants you intend to try, and any family connections in Singapore. Specificity demonstrates genuine tourist intent.
Complete SG Arrival Card Before Departure
The SG Arrival Card must be completed within 3 days before arrival — not on the day of travel or at the airport. Complete it from India before your departure. The SGAC is free, takes 5–10 minutes, and the reference number is checked by Singapore immigration officers. Failure to complete can cause delays at Changi immigration.
Refundable Bookings Until Visa is Confirmed
Use refundable or changeable airfare and refundable hotel reservations while your visa application is pending. Only confirm non-refundable bookings after the Singapore e-visa PDF is in your hands. This protects against any financial loss if the application requires a correction and your travel dates need adjustment.
Singapore Is the World's Best Airport — Plan Around Changi
Changi Airport (consistently voted world's best) is itself a destination — Jewel Changi features the world's tallest indoor waterfall, a Shiseido Forest Valley garden, over 280 shops, and dozens of restaurants. Arrive early for international departures or build in a comfortable transit buffer. Many Indian travellers choose Singapore connections specifically to experience Changi and the city.
Get the EZ-Link Card for Unlimited MRT Travel
Singapore's MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) system covers virtually the entire city and is the most efficient way to travel between all major attractions. Purchase an EZ-Link stored-value card at any MRT station for seamless tapping in and out. The MRT connects Changi Airport, Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Little India, Chinatown, and Sentosa — a single trip costs SGD 1.0–2.0 (Rs.60–120). Far more economical than taxis for city travel.
Hawker Centres Are Singapore's Greatest Food Secret
Singapore's hawker centres are UNESCO-recognised cultural heritage — open-air food complexes where Singapore's greatest dishes are sold for SGD 3–6 per plate (~Rs.180–360). Lau Pa Sat Financial District, Newton Food Centre, Maxwell Food Centre, Chinatown Complex Food Centre, and Old Airport Road Food Centre are the essential Singapore hawker experiences. Chicken rice, laksa, char kway teow, bak kut teh, roti prata, and Indian-influenced naan and biryani are all hawker staples.
Singapore Is Ideal for Vegetarian Indian Travellers
Little India in Singapore is home to excellent Indian vegetarian restaurants serving authentic South Indian, North Indian, and Gujarati cuisine — dosa, idli, pani puri, thali, and North Indian tandoori are widely available. Mustafa Centre (open 24 hours) in Little India sells Indian groceries, snacks, and ready-made food. Many hawker centres have vegetarian Indian stalls. Singapore's cosmopolitan food scene also offers extensive international vegetarian options.
Free and Low-Cost Singapore Experiences
Many of Singapore's best experiences are free or low-cost: the Gardens by the Bay outdoor Supertree Grove and Garden Rhapsody light show (free), Marina Bay waterfront promenade walk (free), Chinatown and Little India exploration (free), Fort Canning Park (free), Merlion Park (free), and the Sri Mariamman Temple in Chinatown (free). The paid attractions like Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and Universal Studios are premium but worth the investment. Plan a mix of free and paid experiences for the best value Singapore trip.
Currency — Singapore Dollar (SGD)
Singapore's currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Exchange rate: approximately SGD 1 = Rs.62–65. Change Indian Rupees to SGD at money changers in Singapore (Arcade Shopping Centre at Raffles Place and Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road offer better rates than airport counters). Cards (Visa, MasterCard) are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops. Hawker centres and small local shops prefer cash — carry SGD 50–100 in cash at all times.
Best Time to Visit Singapore
Singapore's equatorial climate means warm and humid weather year-round with no distinct seasonal variation. February to April is slightly drier and considered optimal for outdoor sightseeing with lower rainfall. June to August and December to January are peak tourist seasons coinciding with Indian school holidays — these periods have the most events and activities but also higher hotel prices and longer queues at attractions. Book hotels and attraction tickets well in advance for peak periods.

Singapore Visa for Indians — 15 Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — Indian passport holders require a visa to enter Singapore for tourism, business, or social visits. Singapore does not offer visa on arrival for Indian nationals, and there is no standalone e-visa portal that Indians can access directly online without an authorised agent. The Singapore tourist visa (Short-Term Visit Pass, STVP) must be applied through an ICA-authorised visa agent who submits the application through the ICA SAVE (Submission of Application for Visa Electronically) system on the applicant's behalf.
The three scenarios for Indian nationals at Singapore:
- Tourist / Business / Social Visit: Singapore Tourist Visa (STVP) — applied through authorised agent. RTH World Tour Packages processes at Rs.4,200 all-inclusive (30-day stay, 60-day validity, single entry). Processing: 3–5 working days
- Airside Transit (no exit from airport): No visa required if remaining entirely within the international transit zone of Changi Airport, layover under 96 hours, and a valid onward ticket is held
- Transit with city exploration: If exiting Changi Airport to enter Singapore during a layover, a standard tourist STVP is required — apply before departure from India
Note on prior visas: Holding a valid US, UK, Australian, or Schengen visa does not grant visa-free entry to Singapore for Indian nationals. Unlike some countries that grant visa-free entry to holders of these visas, Singapore requires all Indians to obtain a Singapore STVP regardless of what other valid visas they hold. The presence of these prior visas in the passport, however, does strengthen the Singapore visa application by demonstrating travel history.
The Singapore visa involves two cost components: the ICA government fee and the visa agent's processing fee.
| Fee Component | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| ICA Singapore Government Fee | SGD 30 (~Rs.1,800–2,000) | Paid to ICA at time of submission; non-refundable; varies with INR/SGD rate |
| RTH Agent Processing Fee | Included in Rs.4,200 | Form 14A, Form V39A, document review, photo check, SGAC guidance, status tracking |
| RTH All-Inclusive Total | Rs.4,200 | Nothing additional — government fee included in this price |
What RTH's Rs.4,200 includes:
- ICA government fee (SGD 30) — paid to ICA at submission
- Form 14A (visa application form) — completed and verified against passport
- Form V39A (Letter of Introduction) — prepared by RTH as the authorised agent
- Photograph compliance verification — 35x45mm, white background, within 3 months
- Complete document checklist review — bank statement, NOC, cover letter, passport verification
- Cover letter drafting and review for employed and self-employed applicants
- Bank statement format guidance — Rs.80,000 minimum balance, 6-month attested requirement
- ICA SAVE submission and application reference number
- Status tracking through processing window — immediate alert on approval or correction request
- SG Arrival Card (SGAC) completion guidance pre-departure
- WhatsApp support throughout the process
The ICA government fee is non-refundable once submitted — whether the visa is approved, rejected, or the applicant cancels. RTH's thorough pre-submission review maximises the probability of first-time approval, protecting the government fee from being spent on a rejected application.
Singapore ICA's photograph requirements are specified in detail at ica.gov.sg/photo-guidelines. Two physical photographs must be submitted with the visa application file.
Complete specifications:
- Size: 35mm x 45mm — borderless (no white border surrounding the photo edge)
- Recency: Taken within the last 3 months — strictly enforced; more stringent than most visa authorities
- Quantity: Two photographs
- Background: Plain white — no shadows, no patterns, no off-white or grey backgrounds
- Face: Full face from chin to top of head; both ears visible; face occupying 70–80% of frame; head centred
- Expression: Neutral — mouth closed, eyes fully open, looking directly at camera lens
- Glasses: Not permitted — remove all eyewear
- Headgear: Not permitted (religious exception: full face including forehead and cheeks visible)
- Lighting: Uniform diffused studio lighting; no harsh shadows on face or background; no red-eye
- Print quality: Professional photographic paper — matte or semi-gloss; not standard office or inkjet paper
- Colour: Full colour only — no black and white
- Alterations: No digital retouching, filters, or background changes
Most common rejection reasons for photographs:
- Photo older than 3 months — the most frequent cause of return for correction
- Incorrect size — 35x45mm is different from 40x60mm (Vietnam) or 35x35mm (US visa) — specify 35x45mm Singapore visa explicitly to your photographer
- Glasses present — even transparent-framed prescription glasses
- Shadow on background
- Printed on office paper — must be professional photographic paper
The SG Arrival Card (SGAC) is Singapore's electronic pre-arrival declaration system, implemented as a permanent system by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). It replaces the physical disembarkation/embarkation card (white card) that was previously handed out on aircraft and completed manually before landing at Changi Airport.
Key facts about the SGAC:
- Mandatory: All visitors to Singapore including Indian nationals — no exceptions for visa holders or family connections
- Timing: Must be completed within 3 days before your arrival date in Singapore — complete it from India before departure
- Cost: Free — no fee charged by ICA for SGAC submission
- Portal: ica.gov.sg/enter-transit-depart/entering-singapore/sg-arrival-card
- Information required: Passport details, travel details (flight number, arrival airport), accommodation address in Singapore, health declaration, emergency contact
- Family submissions: One submission per traveller; families can complete a group submission together
- After submission: An SGAC reference number is generated — note this or save the confirmation page digitally
What if I forget? If you arrive at Changi Airport without completing the SGAC, paper arrival cards may still be available at the airport as a fallback from flight staff or at the immigration counter — however, ICA is progressively phasing out paper cards. The safest approach is to complete the SGAC before boarding your flight from India. RTH provides SGAC completion guidance to all clients as part of the pre-departure briefing.
Standard ICA processing time is 3–5 working days from the date of complete, correct application submission by the authorised visa agent to the ICA SAVE system.
| Period | Processing Time | Recommended Application Lead Time |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (off-peak) | 3–5 working days | 2–3 weeks before travel |
| Peak season (Jun–Aug, Dec–Jan) | 7–10 working days | 3–4 weeks before travel |
| With document correction request | 3–5 days after correction | Apply at least 4 weeks before travel |
Advance application window: Singapore visa applications may be submitted up to 30 days before the intended travel date — not earlier. Applications submitted more than 30 days before travel are generally not processed immediately and must be resubmitted closer to the travel date. This creates an important planning constraint — do not apply too early.
RTH recommendation: Apply exactly 2–3 weeks before travel for the standard period; 3–4 weeks before for peak season travel. Use refundable flight and hotel bookings until the visa e-PDF is received. Do not book non-refundable tickets or hotels on the expectation of approval before the visa is actually in hand.
The Singapore ICA guidelines for Indian applicants specify a minimum maintained bank balance of Rs.80,000 for Tourist Visa applicants and Rs.1,50,000 for Business Visa applicants. This must be demonstrated through the last 6 months' bank statement showing consistent maintenance of this minimum balance — not a one-time deposit immediately before the statement.
Bank statement requirements in detail:
- Period: Last 6 months — all months, all pages — no gaps
- Attestation: Signed and stamped by a bank official on every page — downloaded internet banking statements without attestation are not accepted
- Recency: Statements must be dated within the last 1 week from the date of visa submission — this is a critical and often overlooked requirement
- Balance pattern: The Rs.80,000 minimum should be maintained consistently throughout the 6-month period. Large unexplained single deposits appearing just before the statement date are flagged by ICA officers as artificially inflated balances
- Self-employed: Both personal and company bank statements are required — 6 months each
- Sponsored travel: If someone else (parent, spouse, company) is funding the trip, provide the sponsor's 6-month bank statement with a signed sponsorship letter clearly stating they will cover all expenses of the applicant's trip
Practical note: While Rs.80,000 is the stated minimum, having a significantly higher balance (Rs.2,00,000–5,00,000+) alongside consistent salary income significantly reduces financial scrutiny. For family applications, each adult family member should demonstrate their own financial standing, not rely on a single member's statement.
Extensions of the Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) are possible in Singapore but are granted entirely at the discretion of the ICA officer. They are not guaranteed, not routine, and are only considered for genuine compelling reasons — medical emergencies, hospitalisation, urgent family situations, force majeure events like natural disasters or flight cancellations.
How to apply for an STVP extension in Singapore:
- Apply at the ICA Building (10 Kallang Road, Singapore) in person before your current STVP expires — not online
- Bring your passport, current STVP entry stamp, proof of the compelling reason for extension (medical certificate from a Singapore-licensed hospital, cancelled flight documentation, etc.), and confirmed accommodation for the extended period
- Processing: same day or next working day
- Fee: SGD 40 for extension approval (if granted)
- Extensions of 14–30 days are typically the maximum granted for genuine cases
Overstay consequences: Overstaying a Singapore STVP is treated very seriously by ICA — fines (SGD 100+ per day), detention pending deportation, a ban from Singapore (typically 1–5 years), and a permanent negative record on your ICA file affecting all future Singapore visa applications. Never overstay — apply for an extension before your pass expires if you genuinely need more time, or exit Singapore and apply for a new visa from India for a subsequent visit.
Yes — combining Singapore with Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Penang) or Indonesia (Bali, Batam, Bintan) is one of the most popular multi-country travel circuits for Indian tourists in Southeast Asia. Each country requires independent visa management:
| Country | Visa for Indians | Entry Method |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore | Tourist STVP — via authorised agent | Changi Airport (SIN) — most common |
| Malaysia | eNTRI or eVisa — online for Indians (30 days) | KLIA Kuala Lumpur, Penang, JB Causeway from Singapore |
| Indonesia (Bali) | Visa on Arrival at Bali Ngurah Rai Airport — USD 35 | Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport, Ngurah Rai |
| Indonesia (Batam/Bintan) | Visa on Arrival — USD 35 at ferry terminal | Ferry from Tanah Merah ferry terminal in Singapore |
Popular Singapore-based multi-country circuits for Indians:
- Singapore + Kuala Lumpur: Fly into Singapore (Changi), spend 3–4 days in Singapore, take the cross-border coach or short flight to Kuala Lumpur (KUL), spend 2–3 days, fly home from KUL. Malaysia eNTRI or eVisa applied online at malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my
- Singapore + Bali: Singapore 3–4 days, short flight to Bali (approximately 2.5 hours), Bali 4–5 days (Visa on Arrival), fly home from Bali. Total approximately 7–10 days
- Singapore + Batam (Indonesia): 1-hour ferry from Tanah Merah to Batam — popular weekend add-on from Singapore for beach resorts and spa experiences at Indonesian prices
RTH can design and visa-manage complete Singapore + Malaysia or Singapore + Bali multi-country circuits for Indian travellers. Contact us for combined itinerary and visa planning.
Singapore's tourist visa approval rate for Indian nationals is high when applications are well-prepared. The most common causes of rejection or return for correction are:
- Photograph non-compliance: Photo older than 3 months (the most frequently cited cause), incorrect 35x45mm dimensions, glasses present, shadow on background, or printed on office paper. RTH checks every photograph before submission
- Bank statement recency: Statements not dated within the last week from submission — ICA requires current statements, not month-old printouts. Obtain fresh bank-attested statements immediately before submitting the file
- Insufficient bank balance: Balance below Rs.80,000 consistently over 6 months, or a large artificial deposit just before the statement date without consistent prior salary income
- Incomplete Form 14A: Missing fields, inconsistencies with passport details, or unsigned/undated application form
- Vague or generic cover letter: A cover letter that does not specify Singapore destinations, does not mention current employment, leave approval, or intent to return to India
- Missing NOC / incorrect NOC format: NOC not on company letterhead, not stamped, or not signed by an authorised HR officer
- Weak ties to India: Young, single, unemployed applicants without property, family responsibilities, or stable employment are viewed with higher scrutiny. Counter this with strong financial statements, property documents, and prior international travel history in the passport
- Prior Singapore overstay or immigration violation: Any prior overstay or ICA violation creates a permanent negative record — disclose truthfully and consult RTH on the strategy for reapplication
- Passport with amendments: Any handwritten correction to the passport — immediately renews the passport before applying
After rejection: ICA does not always provide specific rejection reasons. Analyse which aspect of the application was most likely the issue, correct it thoroughly, and reapply. Wait at least 1–2 months between applications. Contact RTH for post-rejection analysis and a stronger reapplication strategy — RTH has extensive experience in rebuilding rejected applications.

Singapore is consistently ranked as the safest country in Asia for international tourists. Violent crime is extremely rare. Pickpocketing and petty theft are uncommon. The country has one of the world's lowest crime rates, maintained through a combination of strict law enforcement, very high conviction rates, and a culture of strong civic compliance. Indian women travelling solo to Singapore can do so with a very high level of confidence in personal safety.
Singapore's laws — important for Indian visitors:
- Chewing gum: Chewing gum is banned in Singapore — do not carry chewing gum into the country; it can be confiscated at customs
- Littering: Heavy on-the-spot fines for littering — SGD 300 for a first offence. Do not drop any litter anywhere in public
- Jaywalking: Crossing roads outside designated crossings or when the red man is showing is a fineable offence — SGD 50 on-the-spot fine. Always use pedestrian crossings and wait for the green man
- Smoking: Smoking is banned in most public areas including all air-conditioned public spaces, hawker centres, parks, and near building entrances. Designated smoking areas (DSAs) are marked. Non-compliance — fine of up to SGD 1,000
- Drugs: Singapore has one of the strictest anti-drug laws in the world — death penalty applicable for drug trafficking above threshold quantities. Zero tolerance. Do not carry any substances of any kind that could be questioned by customs
- Drinking in public: Prohibited between 10:30 PM and 7:00 AM in public areas; allowed only in licensed premises
- Transport: No eating or drinking (other than water) on the MRT — fine of SGD 500. No durian (the fruit) on MRT or in enclosed public transport
Singapore's laws are well-signposted throughout the country — look for public notices at transport stations, parks, and hawker centres. The general rule is: respectful, courteous behaviour in public places and compliance with posted rules at all times.
Universal Studios Singapore (USS) at Resorts World Sentosa is Southeast Asia's only Universal Studios theme park — a full-day attraction on Sentosa Island featuring themed zones, thrilling rides, live entertainment shows, and character meet-and-greets. For Indian families and groups, it is typically the highlight of the Singapore trip.
Universal Studios Singapore zones:
- Hollywood Boulevard: Entrance zone with celebrity walk and movie sets

- Sci-Fi City: TRANSFORMERS The Ride 3D — highly recommended; Accelerator spinning ride
- Ancient Egypt: Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster (indoor)
- The Lost World: Waterworld show; Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure (get wet!)

- Minion Land: Despicable Me Minion Mayhem 4D ride; Villain-Con Minion Blast interactive
Recommended Sentosa Island day plan for Indian families (arrive by 9:00 AM via Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity):
- 9:00 AM — Universal Studios Singapore opens; tackle the most popular rides (Transformers 3D, Mummy, Battlestar Galactica) first while queues are shortest
- 1:00 PM — Lunch inside USS (pricier) or exit briefly to VivoCity food court (MRT back takes 5 min)
- 2:30 PM — Continue USS; Waterworld show (check showtimes — incredible stunt show)

These two ICA forms are the core documents of any Singapore visa application:
Form 14A — Application for Entry Permit / Re-Entry Permit / Pass:
- This is the primary Singapore visa application form completed by the applicant
- Download from the official ICA website: ica.gov.sg/docs/default-source/ica/forms/form14a.pdf
- Fields include: personal details (name exactly as in passport, DOB, nationality, passport number and expiry), contact details in India, employment details (current employer, designation, address, salary range), education background, travel details (purpose of visit, entry and exit dates, Singapore accommodation address), travel history (previous visits to Singapore and other countries), emergency contact in India, and a signed declaration
- Must be signed and dated by the applicant — not by the agent on the applicant's behalf
- RTH completes this form for all clients, reviews every field against the passport, and presents it for the client's signature before submission
Form V39A — Application for a Visit Pass on behalf of Visitor:
- This is the agent's Letter of Introduction — completed by the ICA-authorised visa agent (RTH World Tour Packages), not the applicant
- Download: ica.gov.sg/docs/default-source/ica/forms/formv39a.pdf
- It is submitted by the authorised agent alongside Form 14A, taking responsibility for the accuracy of the submission
- The applicant does not need to complete or sign Form V39A — RTH handles this entirely as part of the Rs.4,200 service
- This is one of the key reasons Indian applicants must use an authorised agent — Form V39A cannot be submitted without agent authorisation from ICA
RTH World Tour Packages is an ICA-authorised visa agent providing complete Singapore Tourist Visa processing for Indian passport holders at a single transparent all-inclusive fee of Rs.4,200 (30-day stay, 60-day validity, single entry):
